OVERCOMING EQUALS RECEIVING

Preparation to write this gave me once again the opportunity to reflect back over the past five years. Yes! For Five years I have been living my greatest desire as minister of Unity Church of Sachse.  I thought WOW! How far we as a congregation family have come.  There have been challenges, changes and growth, all filled with Love and a large amount of Faith.

I also thought about my personal journey to this fulfillment and silently shouted the words of gratitude, Thank You Father for all that you are in my life and my world. Thank you for the guidance and wisdom, the understanding and knowledge, the wonderful truth that, regardless of the nature of our difficulties the same method can be used to dissolve each one.

When I first began to study and seek TRUTH, I was told the single purpose of my troubles, was for me to learn to overcome them. They were lessons in my spiritual growth and development. This became a quandary for me. How do you overcome anything? Then, I remembered when I was a teenager, I wanted to be a cheerleader, I was filled with doubts and apprehension. My Mother after listening to my foreboding. Told me. "Dear one, You are an Overcomer, there are no obstacles to large for a person who trusts the power of  God within, Who finds a way to  receive the gift of possibility which vaults you over all the obstructions of your own manifestation."

I believe my Mother was telling me there is more to us than our outer appearance. We each have an inner beauty and an infinite range of possibilities. That with-in each of us lays the God--Given potential for perfection. When you are faced with challenges or obstacles, go stand before a mirror. Look at your reflection; ask yourself, what do I see? Do you see a potentially perfect being, looking forward to life with hope and prepared to meet any challenge? Is the person looking back at you self-assured, capable, and positive?  An overcomer with an open heart to receive? This is what God sees.

Yes, it takes time and practice to begin to see ourselves as God sees us.  Each time you catch a glimpse of yourself, the image should be one of a happy, healthy, prosperous individual. It will be if you keep in mind the following words from the popular "Prayer of Faith:"  All Things I am, can do, and be. Through Christ, the Truth that is in me.

Later in years, I once again had the opportunity to experience and give stronger meaning to the word overcomer. A doctor's conformation, I had cancer. This was a manifestation born in the darkness of my fear, and could only be dispelled in the light of the one Presence and one Power in the universe---God, the Good, everywhere present.  God cannot be absent. So the full presence of God was right where my need seem to be. I did truly believe this and opened myself to receive the truth that there was nothing to fear? It was astonishing how I knew I was healed.  I was an overcomer.

There is Truth in each of us, the truth of what God sees---the perfect you. You may not always recognize this truth, but you will begin to recognize it as the Christ qualities within you when you spend more time in God's presence.  Allow yourself more time to become better acquainted with your spiritual nature and to see yourself through the eyes of God. Take time to examine the inner you in the light of God's Love.  As you practice this you will become more aware of the Christ spirit within. You will discover your strength of purpose, untapped ability, and true potential.

Trust God to help you develop your abilities. As you understand more fully the potential that lives within you and begin to think of yourself as successful, healthy, harmonious, and wise, you are seeing yourself as God sees you.

Yes! Soon when you look into your mirror, the reflection you see will be one of an empowered being, for that is your inheritance as a beloved child of God.  See who you really are.  AN OVER COMER OF ALL CHALLENGES.

Blessings,

But Jesus beheld them and said unto them, with men this is impossible;
but with God all things are possible.
