Summer Greetings!
This is certainly a
busy and wonderful time for Unity Church of Sachse. I feel
like I have the inside scoop on a story the world awaits
to hear. If I was writing it, the title would be, " The
Little Church that Could and Did." Just
14 months ago we moved into this blessed building. This was
an expression of God working through each of us. In these
months we have grown in number and in our knowledge and understanding
of God's love within and around us. We seek to see ourselves
and our world through spiritual eyes. To radiate from ourselves
the love Jesus spoke about for our neighbors. We recognize,
our universe is whole. It is not fragmented, and where there
is wholeness, there must be a harmonious working of all parts;
there is divine timing, divine order. It is true God is in
charge, and God is never late. When we stop trying to figure
things out alone, we become inspired to do our best.
Yes! We are about to embark on another step in our growth.
In a short period of time we will break ground for the
building of our first expansion, the space for our children.
The future of our church and our world. The opportunity to
teach them to know they are an expression of God's love and
as they grow and become more attuned to God's love their
life will be a song of happiness, joy and fulfillment. The
opportunity to teach them about Jesus the Christ and the
value of the knowledge He left us for a beautiful life.
This time has not been without changes. We have had three
members of our congregation embark on different experiences.
Bill and Edna Dixon have moved to Alabama, and are enjoying
a bit of country living. Rev. Marylou Ghyst, one of the
founders of our church has retired, and is enjoying spending
time on personal projects. Blessings to you all. You are
missed.
We are also enjoying classes on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
The Tuesday Metaphysical Classes have given all attending
a deeper understanding of the journey we are all on and
the importance of the fundamental principles of metaphysics,
the laws of being and their practical application to our
life and affairs. Upon completion of Practical
Metaphysics we will begin Metaphysical
Interpretation of The Bible.
The Wednesday class is The Quest a Unity publication
by Richard and Mary-Alice Jafolla. The study of this book
is called a journey of spiritual discovery. To quote the
authors "This is not a book in
the usual sense- not a course of learning, but a process.
This Quest is a process of remembering the truths that
have been hidden in the ancient forests of your soul. It
is the next step in the evolution of your soul, which spirals
ever upward in the rediscovery of its spiritual self. It
is a journey which can transform your life far beyond any
good that you now can envision."
As
I write this column and about all the wonderful God filled
events taking place in this radiating center of God's Light.
The only word that I think describes how I feel is Gratitude.
This is because giving thanks to God makes me as happy
as the receiving of the blessing.
Gratitude is a powerful force of good in our lives.
Have
you ever noticed peoples response when you say Thank
You,
even for a minor occurrence? It is most often a positive
reply,
You may find it difficult to express gratitude in certain
situations. At these times you can find encouragement in
the Bible: Do not worry about
anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God. (Phil.
4:6). This tells me we should
give thanks in through prayer in ADVANCE with full expectation
that the answer is coming.
It is true we have at our disposal a mighty power - Gratitude.
By maintaining this attitude, we cultivate an awareness
that God is an active, loving presence in our lives and
that good will be the unfailing result of this recognition.
I and the Unity Church of Sachse family, invite you to
join us for worship service on Sunday as we praise and give
thanks for the gift of God's presence in our lives and affairs.
God Bless,
Rev. Paulette
