Minister: Rev. Orville Grove
Rev. Orville was born in Columbus, Ohio; where he discovered Unity and knew almost immediately that he wanted to become a Unity Minister. He graduated from the Unity Ministerial Education Program in 1988 and was ordained in 1989. Prior to his marriage to Peggy he was Senior Minister in Topeka KS and Fill-in-Minister in St. Louis MO. He has been a social worker and restaurant manager, and has extensive counseling experience. He excels in enlisting and coordinating the aid of private and public social service agencies for various projects and / or tasks. He has proficient editing and writing skills – and is an ongoing student in the use of the computer and internet. He loves to cook and to go fishing.
Revs. Orville and Peggy met while Orville was in ministerial school and Peggy was working in the counseling department at Unity Village. They were married June 1, 1990 at Unity Village, as Peggy was graduating from the Unity Ministerial Education Program and being ordained. They will celebrate both their 20th wedding anniversary and 20 years as co-ministers in 2010.
The two have served as co-ministers in Irving TX, Greenville, SC and Des Moines, IA; and are currently in Arlington TX, on a working sabbatical. While in Texas, they have been guest speaking and teaching classes in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex.
The Revs. Grove’s focus in ministry is to assist others in awakening to their spiritual natures, empowering them to live Truth centered lives and to help raise consciousness through education, worship, prayer and meditation.
Rev. Peggy was born in Iowa, grew up in Illinois where she was introduced to Unity and fell in love with it in St. Petersburg, FL. She has 24 years experience in Spiritual Counseling. She is currently the Youth and Family Minister (part time) at the Unity Church of Arlington and has mentored others in Youth Education, both on the church and regional levels. She has a passion for empowering women and has developed Women’s Retreats, a Spiritual Day Spa, Tea’s and Wise Women Ceremonies. She has recently published her “12 Power Super Hero” curriculum and is in the process of getting her book, “The Gifts from the Children” published. She loves to create intergenerational programs and services. Peggy loves to read and to do research on the internet.
They both have developed and coordinated and presented workshops for the Heart of Texas Retreats, UMMAS Black Mountain Retreats, and Iowa Ministers’ Retreats. Individually and together they presented numerous classes many credit and some just for fun. They designed and oversaw the building addition (Irving, TX) and kitchen remodeling (Des Moines, IA). They facilitated the development of the Dallas (TX) Unity Metroplex Singles and NGU of Des Moines, IA.
